Sirius XM Radio Inc (SIRI) To Conduct Q&A With Designer Kenneth Cole

On Friday, Sirius XM Radio Inc (NASDAQ:SIRI) announced that it will conduct a Q&A session with American fashion designer and humanitarian Kenneth Cole at its New York City studios on February 5.

The host of the session is SiriusXM Fashion Insiders’ Fern Mallis. The event, called “SiriusXM’s Town Hall with Kenneth Cole,” falls under SiriusXM’s “Town Hall” series. It has been described by the company as “intimate gatherings with iconic entertainers, celebrities and newsmakers sitting down with a studio audience of SiriusXM listeners.”

Former SiriusXM “Town Hall” specials have included such celebrities as Bruce Springsteen, Carol Burnett, Tom Petty, KISS, Coldplay, the surviving members of Nirvana, Renee Fleming, Gregg Allman, Quentin Tarantino, Ronnie Dunn, Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski and Harry Belafonte.

In Cole’s session, he will answer live studio audience questions on such topics as his life, career, philanthropy and more, according to Friday’s press release.

Along with his reputation as an American designer with his U.S. and international stores, Cole is also a Chairman to The Foundation of AIDS Research (amfAR) and a founding board member of the Council of Fashion Designers of American (CFDA) and The Sundance Institute. Through these efforts, he has united his fashion instincts and business acumen with his philanthropic beliefs.

For Mallis, she has a personal connection with Cole and said of the event: “I have been a longtime friend and fan of Kenneth Cole and have greatly admired his creative force both on and off the runway. I am excited to kick off Fashion Week programming with this special broadcast event.”

New York’s 2013 Fashion Week will be held from Feb. 7- Feb. 14, 2013.

Cole’s show (all in ET) will air on Sirius XM Radio Inc (NASDAQ:SIRI) Stars channel 107 on February 7 at 10:00 am. Numerous encore presentations will air at the following dates and times: February 8 at 8:00 pm; February 9 at 9:00 am and 5:00 pm; and February 10 at 1:00 pm on SiriusXM Stars channel 107. It will also replay on Sirius XM OutQ channel 108 on February 8 at 10:00 am.

Mallis, currently the host of SiriusXM’s Fashion Insiders with Fern Mallis, has been hailed as a creator of New York’s Fashion Week. For her shows, listeners get an inside view of the industry she has been said to revolutionize by exploring brands, business, and personalities of the largest designers, top magazine editors, models, photographers, style experts, and other special guests in the industry.

She is also the host of the conversation series, Fashion Icons with Fern Mallis at New York’s prestigious 92nd Street Y. Mallis  interviews superstar designers and industry icons including Marc Jacobs, Tom Ford, Diane von Furstenberg, Calvin Klein; she is also the president of her own international fashion and design consultancy firm, Fern Mallis LLC.

Earlier this week, Sirius XM Radio Inc (NASDAQ:SIRI) announced the launch of a new morning show with an alternative format. The three-hour show will begin on Feb. 11 with stand-up comedian Pete Dominick as the host. It will run from 6 a.m to 9 a.m. ET and will then be repeated for the West Coast.
