Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus Is Here, Features Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

Galaxy S2, Samsung’s hugely popular flagship phone is going to receive a new update. Samsung has announced the launch of the Galaxy S2 Plus smartphone with Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean).

The original Galaxy S2 initially came with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, the device received an update to Android 4.0 last June and now finally, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is due sometime soon.

When you look at the tech specs, there’s not much difference between both  devices. In fact, some people will find no reason to upgrade from Galaxy S2 to Galaxy S2 Plus.

The Galaxy S2 Plus will come with 4.3” WVGA Super AMOLED Plus display, a 1.2 GHz Dual Core processor, 1GB of RAM and an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP camera on the front. The rear camera comes with zero-lag shutter speed that captures moving objects easily and without delay.

Talking about the storage, the Galaxy S2 Plus features 8GB in-built memory which is expandable up to 64GB. It would also come with optional NFC support.

Apart from the hardware, this phone also features some software improvements. For example, the Direct call feature allows users to automatically dial a call by taking the device to the ear. Smart Stay feature recognizes whether the user is looking at the screen to dim the screen, while the Smart Alert feature lets users know about missed events or status updates just by picking up the phone.

S Voice lets users control the phone using their voice; and Voice Unlock lets users unlock the phone using their own voice.

Samsung is yet to announce the availability and price of the Galaxy S2 Plus.
