Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930), the Korean Electronics giant, has launched the Galaxy Grand smartphone in India at a launching ceremony in Delhi. The smartphone comes with an impressive screen size of 5-inch; something that big screen lovers will surely look forward to.

The Galaxy Grand runs on 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and is powered by a 1.2GHz Dual Core processor. The phone is priced at Rs 21,500, it also comes with a free flip cover, plus a whopping 50GB of free space on popular cloud-storage service Dropbox, as a part of the introductory offer.

The Smart Dual SIM feature allows users to never miss a call even if they are already talking on one SIM. For example, if you are talking from SIM 1, and if a call comes on SIM 2, you’ll be informed about it.

Let’s take a quick look at the tech specs of Galaxy Grand smartphone:

  • 5-inch WVGA TFT LCD display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels
  • 1.2 GHz Dual Core processor
  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS
  • 3G, EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi
  • A-GPS
  • Bluetooth
  • 8 MP rear camera with HD recording
  • 2 MP front camera for video calls
  • 8GB internal + microSD expandable up to 64GB
  • 2,100mAh battery
  • Software Features like Smart Alert, Direct Call, Popup Video and Allshare Play
  • Smart Dual SIM

The Galaxy Grand comes with the Multi-window feature present on the Galaxy Note series, which allows users to multitask and run various apps simultaneously on the same screen instead of switching between different screens.

Because of its bigger 5-inch screen and a cheaper price tag, the phone might give the Galaxy Note 2 a run for its money (only if we forget other tech specs of Note 2).

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930) has partnered with Vodafone India to offer 2GB of data for free for 2 months.
