Twitter Rolls Out An Option To Download All Your Tweets As promised by Twitter’s CEO Dick Costolo, the micro-blogging site has finally unveiled an option that allows users to download an archive of all the tweets from their accounts. Many Twitter users have waited a long time for this feature to arrive, and finally, it’s here.

For now, this new feature has been launched for just a small percentage of the accounts on the micro blogging site. Or it can also be possible that Twitter is slowly rolling out this feature to all users.

This option is located at the bottom of your settings page on Twitter. Click on “Request your archive” and then after some time a link would be emailed to you when the archive is ready to be downloaded.

The compressed .zip file will contain all your tweets in a spreadsheet. The tweets also include location data and other metadata if you have turned on these features from your account.

Twitter user Navjot Singh has this option available in his account he shares his views on his blog explaining.

Twitter informs that they will mail you the download link when the archive is ready. Yes, its just like how Facebook’s archive system works. Once you get the mail and download it you will get a zip file with archive in html form. Extracting it and you will see all your tweets sorted in calendar format.

A Twitter user @Psilosophy points out that some of the early tweets might be a little embarrassing. Well, it would be surely interesting to see those tweets of early days.

If you don’t see this option yet, then rest assured, Twitter will soon make it available for your account and you will be able to download your complete archive.
