How To Increase Touch Responsiveness On Nexus 4

Updated on

Google’s Nexus 4 had a very successful start and the device was sold out from the U.S. Play Store in a short time. Not just the U.S., but the device is completely sold out in many countries. The initial batches of the Nexus 4 have some issues though, like the call connectivity and purple haze in the camera (like the iPhone 5), but the biggest problem is the screen being unresponsive at times. This is the major complaint of this phone, but thankfully, a developer from XDA took over the task of solving this issue and the user has released a solution for this issue. The solution includes fixed drivers that will improve the touch responsiveness of the device.

Before you start, note that your Nexus 4 should be rooted and you should install custom recovery. You will also need to install Busybox. With that in mind, let’s start this guide.

  1. Copy the downloaded touchscreen driver at the root of your Nexus 4. (Get it from Source link below)
  2. Reboot your phone and put it in recovery mode.
  3. In recovery mode, select choose zip from SD card and select the .zip touchscreen driver that you copied in Step 1.
  4. Select install. Wait for time to finish the process.

Once the driver is installed, restart your device. Try using the touchscreen and you’ll notice an improvement in the touchscreen’s responsiveness. Welcome to a better touchscreen experience.
