Apple Inc. (AAPL) CEO Tim Cook Hints That Apple TV Is Coming

Published on

Apple TV has been one of those rare rumors that we keep hearing about, but nothing seems to materialize.  If we needed any confirmation that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) may indeed have their own television set in the near future, it would have to come straight from the source’s mouth. We may have that confirmation now.

The Cupertino-based company’s current chief executive officer Tim Cook recently sat down with Brian Williams, from NBC, for a chat that will air on Thursday night’s episode of  Rock Center. He said, ” When I go into my living room and turn on the TV, I feel like I have gone backwards in time by 20 to 30 years. It’s an area of intense interest. I can’t say more than that,”

Although Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has sort of already entered the television market with their TV box, the current market could use a major boost. Given what Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has done for the smartphone and tablet computer market, they could revitalize the television market as well.

Earlier this year, there were reports that Apple TV wouldn’t exactly be just a television set, but rather a central hub for entertainment and living.  And last summer, there were also rumors that Apple TV would arrive by the end of this year.

There is little doubt that the world’s most valuable company has a few plans in the pipeline for a new television set. Although there is no current speculation or rumors that suggest what we can expect from the rumored TV. It should be interesting to see what they come up with, as they come up with a way to create specialized apps for the television without taking interest away from their iTunes Store. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is a smart company that’s known for their innovation and whatever plans they have regarding a television set should further prove their positive impact on the market.
