The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 features Android 4.0 Ice Cream sandwich operating system, 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 10.1 inch touchscreen, rear-facing 3 megapixel camera, and front facing VGA camera.

This tablet also features IR Blaster, which easily turns the computer into a universal remote that enables users to find shows they like on television, and control all their home entertainment equipment. The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 also features AllShare, a simple feature that allows users to share photo albums with other Galaxy users.

David Owens (Sprint’s VP for product development) said, “Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 brings Sprint 4G LTE to a new category of device and expands a portfolio already recognized as one of the industry’s best. This new tablet combined with the Sprint 4G LTE network, and our aggressively priced tablet rate plan options offer consumers and business users an exciting new way to stay connected and productive with a large work space, in an easily portable device.”

The Galaxy Tab 2 sounds like a good buy for those who are looking for a new Android tablet this holiday season. Although it missed many points  where the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad aces, it still sounds like a nice alternative.

Sprint Nextel Corporation (NYSE:S) will also offer Mobile Broadband Passes that enable customers to send the bill to their credit card when they need the occasional plan. Broadband passes will start at $14.99 for 300 MB of 3G/4G data.
