Enter G Cloud Backup, an app for Android platform, and as the name suggests it can backup your stuff such as SMS messages, contacts, call logs, documents, photos, music and videos to a cloud location. Yes, it takes backup of your phone to the cloud so that your backup always remains securely stored online and only accessible by you.
After installing this free application, you can select what you want to backup. Once done, it intelligently backs up daily when your battery level is normal and connected to WiFi, you can also select the option to use 3G. Of course you can set options such as backup via WiFi only, enable daily backup automatically or select a backup schedule as per your convenience.
The only minus point is that it doesn’t backup apps. As per the developer, the ability to backup apps will be added in the next updated but this functionality can only be used if your phone is rooted.
The app comes with free 1 GB of online storage which is enough for most users (as you’re not backing up apps) and more space can also be purchased – 10GB for $0.99 per month. If your requirements are more, then unlimited plan can also be purchased.
It uses secure and reliable Amazon S3 cloud storage to store your data. Plus, there is no rooting required to use this app.
When you want to restore from your backup, then simply install this app, tap on Existing user/Restore. G Cloud will then guide you through the process to restore your device.
This app really takes out the complications and easily backs up Android device to the cloud so that you don’t need to worry about losing, damaging or replacing your device.
