Google Launches New YouTube App For iPhone

YouTube has always been one of the preloaded app on every iOS device but things went started to become complicated when Apple announced that the stock YouTube app in iOS won’t appear in the next version of their mobile platform (iOS 6). No one knows the reason for Apple’s such decision but many people predict that it is due to the fierce competition and the lawsuits going on between Apple and Google.

But today, Google has officially announced the launch of YouTube app for iPhone and iPod touch from the App Store. This announcement is made just a day before the launch of the iPhone 5 and iOS 6. Now those users who will be running on Apple’s latest mobile OS – iOS 6 can also get the advantage of YouTube, thanks to this new app.

YouTube’s mobile usage is growing constantly, as it receives 1 billion mobile views a day. A big chunk of such views is coming from music videos and movie trailers and therefore it makes sense for Google to launch this app and be prepared for iOS 6.

New YouTube channel guide: Simply swipe your finger from the left edge of the screen to view a guide with your subscribed channels on YouTube. This means you get instant access to your favorite videos.

Improved search: The new app provides suggestion as you type. This means in most cases, you won’t even need to type the complete name of the video. Also you can flip through related videos, comments and more info, all while watching a video.

Sharing made easy: Love that video and want to share it with the world? Now you can share the video on Google+, Twitter, Facebook, Email and via message also.

Google says that it is working on an optimized version of the YouTube app for iPad in the coming months. So if you’ve got an iPad, then you’ll need to wait some more days to get your hands on this app.
