Samsung’s Galaxy Note II is expected to be introduced in just a few days, but one newspaper from South Korea has a full sheet of supposed specs for those who can’t wait for the phablet to be released.
It’s predicted, the Note II will have 5.5 inch 1280 x 720 display, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system software, 3G/4G connectivity, and 1.4GHz quadcore Exynos 4412 processor.
And that’s not all. This second-generation phone/tablet combo is also expected to feature an eight megapixel camera, Super AMOLED panels on the screen, and the choice of either 16GB or 32GB of storage.
The Samsung Galaxy Note II is expected to be unveiled on August 29.
This next generation Samsung phablet looks appealing, but since the Apple iPhone 5 expected to arrive sometime next month, I think it will be mostly overlooked. Like most phablet style phones, many people find these phones to be too bulky. People prefer smartphones that are thinner and sleeker, this phablet doesn’t provide that.
With all of that said, I think that Samsung might earn a marginal profit from this Note II, but I doubt the numbers will be anything like those of the Galaxy S III, their current flagship phone.
A few days ago, Chris Barnes from SlashGear shared why he thinks people should skip the Samsung Galaxy Note II. He thinks the new phone won’t be all that much different than the original Galaxy Note, except for a slightly larger design and elements inspired by the Galaxy S III.
Samsung’s recent loss to Apple during the patent lawsuit is no surprise and it’s still too early tell what the outcome is going to be for both companies. Will Apple rise to the top again, or will Samsung continue to trail-blaze through competition? The former plans on appealing the lawsuit. For now, we will have to wait and see where Apple takes this next.
