Deutsche Telekom To Sell Tickets For Pre-orders Of iPhone 5

One European cell phone carrier is gearing up for the arrival of the highly anticipated iPhone 5. Reports from one German websiteclaim that Deutsche Telekom AG (ETR:DTE) (FRA:DTE) is getting ready to offer pre-order tickets via distribution partners today. Unfortunately, this will be limited to a first-come, first-serve basis.  Although this doesn’t verify anything, it appears that we’re nearing the official launch date for the sixth generation iPhone.

It’s reported that Apple will introduce the iPhone 5 on September 12 and launch the product on September 21.

The iPhone 5 is perhaps Apple’s most important gadget of the year. Although they have sold, and continue to sell, the iPad at an impressive rate, sales for the iPhone have slowed down significantly. It’s obvious that the next generation iPhone will be crucial to their future.

Although Apple has yet to confirm any rumors regarding the future of their popular smartphone, it’s predicted that the next iPhone will feature a slightly larger design, 4G LTE, and in-cell technology that allows for a thinner design. The rumored phone design doesn’t sound as exciting as some people think it should. It should be pointed out that these rumors may or may not be true, moreover Apple may still have few surprises up their sleeve that are sure to impress those who doubt. I think people may be underestimating the potential of Apple.

At the very least, if Apple fails to impress people with the design of their sixth generation smartphone, I think iOS 6 could be the saving grace for Apple.  If people aren’t interested in the iPhone’s new appearance, perhaps they will be more interested in the operating system’s features, like three-dimensional maps and an alarm-clock application that will let you wake up to your favorite tracks. Overall, the new operating system upgrade will include over 200 new features that are sure to please even the most discerning iPhone user.
