Jim Rogers: Bailouts Led to WWII; He Should Brush Up on his History

Jim Rogers during an interview with Yahoo news stated that the current European debt crisis could lead to another world war. Rogers thinks that the current bailouts lead to world war II and could trigger world war III. Here are some direct quotes from the interview:

“This is how we got into World War II.”

“Add debt, the situation gets worse, and eventually it just collapses. Then everybody is looking for scapegoats. Politicians blame foreigners, and we’re in World War II or World War whatever.”

The video is below but we would like to recommend Rogers hit the history books. The current situation is nothing like world war II, and the world-wide depression lead to Hitler’s rise NOT hyperinflation in 1923 Weimar Germany. The German economy boomed from 1924-1928, only collapsing when the Great Depression hit America and many other countries, including Germany. Until 1929, the Nazi party’s popularity was in decline. The Nazi party gained its great popularity during the period of 1930-1933.

Below are some mainstream books on World War II, which we recommend someone send over to Jim Rogers before his next interview on the topic:

These are just a few which I read and would recommend to Jim Rogers. These books all discuss in detail the beginning of the War and the rise of the nazi party.

The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich: A History of Nazi Germany

The Wages of Destruction: The Making and Breaking of the Nazi Economy. This book does a fantastic job at explaining the pre-WWII German economy.

The Storm of War: A New History of the Second World War

Inferno: The World at War, 1939-1945

Hitler: A Study in Tyranny
