Apple To Launch 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display In October

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is expected to announce a 13 inch version of its incredible new Retina MacBook Pro later this year. The rumour comes from a top analyst and the news was reported exclusively by AppleInsider.

More specifically the report suggests that the new model will be released in October. The analyst who supplied the information, Ming-Chi Kuo, correctly predicted most of the characteristics of the new Macbook range including the end of the 17 inch MacBook Pro range, and the introduction of the 15 inch Retina MacBook Pro, along with its existence beside an update old style MacBook range.

The resolution of the new model is expected to be 2,560 by 1,600 and the form factor of the notebook is expected to be the same as the larger model. It will feature no optical drive and will probably have the same array of ports as the larger version of the notebook. The system is expected to be thinner than the 15 inch version at 18 millimetres.

The 13 incher is expected to rely on Intel integrated graphic rather than the discrete graphics used by the 15 inch Pro. Other details about the system are expected to follow in the vein of the 15 inch release.

The delay in the release of this laptop seems to stem from the difficulty in designing and manufacturing the smaller version. Apple sometimes delays big releases if it is making massive technological leaps as it’s doing with this model. No news on pricing has been brough out but it should be expected to run somewhere close to the prices of the bigger model
