About The Contributors

Jacob Wolinsky-founder, owner, and content manager of the site.

A few years ago, I picked up a copy of the Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham, after I heard Buffett describe the book as the best investment book ever written. That was the day when my real education started. I realized right away that value investing was the best way to invest. I went on to re-read the book many times. I have since gone on to become a dyed-in-the-wool value investor.

I have prior experience in a Private Equity Value based firm that solely invested in publicly traded companies. My investment style is mostly a cigar butt, dirt cheap value/contrarian investing approach that is mostly inspired by David Dreman, John Neff, and Benjamin Graham. However, I do not limit myself, and will invest in high quality companies that are trading at reasonable prices. I also look for special situations including spin-offs, and arbitrage.

I write many articles exclusively for GuruFocus.com Guru Focus is a site devoted to great investors with a value tilt. GuruFocus gives me permission to post the articles I write there in part, on my blog and to read the rest of the article on GuruFocus. Therefore, some articles will only be partial posts. Rob Bennett- Writes a weekly column
Rob developed the the Valuation-Informed Indexing investing strategy..
a strategy that combines the most powerful insights of Vanguard Founder John Bogle and Yale Professor Robert Shiller in a simple approach offering higher returns at greatly diminished risk.

Michael Harr, founder of Walden Advisors, has described Valuation-Informed Indexingas “a very solid approach to investing.” Norbert Schenkler, a financial planner, performed an analysis of the historical record showing that: “The evidence is pretty incontrovertible. Valuation-Informed Indexing is…everywhere superior to Buy-and-Hold over ten-year periods.” Bill Schultheis, author of The New Coffeehouse Portfolio, exclaimed upon discovery of the investing materials available at Rob’s www.PassionSaving.com:”Holy Toledo! This is great stuff!” Carl Richards, owner of Clearwater Asset Management, wrote:
I have read everything I can about Valuation-Informed Indexing, and I agree with you that Buy-and-Hold is extremely problematic…. I think what you are doing has huge value.”

A full bio of Rob is here. He today writes two weekly columns on investing: (1) “Valuation-Informed Indexing”, which appears on Tuesdays on Value Walk
here.) and; (2) “Investing: The New Rules”, at the Death by 1,000 Papercuts Site, available here. You can e-mail Rob at: hocusreports@verizon.net.

Sandesh Trivedi- Regular contributor to the site

about Sandesh: An Economics Graduate from the University of Mumbai, have been studying accounts and finance on my own and have been following a value investing philosophy ever since was in high school. I am very fascinated with and enjoy investigating stocks and reading books on value investing, accounting and studying business models.Just as there are as many value investors out there,so there are also many ways to practice value investing. The methodology, I use, is largely based on teachings of Prof Benjamin Graham, Warren Buffett, Charlie Munger, Prof Bruce Greenwald, Li Lu and Joel Greenblatt and the earlier Buffett Partnership Ltd .i.e finding small, obscure, cheap and ignored stocks

Sandesh can be contacted at sandeshtrivedi@gmail.com
