TV soap blog, Soaphub have analyzed 80 of the largest US TV shows, from Game of Thrones to American Horror Story, to find out which is the most illegally downloaded as part of their The Deadliest Watch report.

The data reveals that Game of Thrones tops the chart as the most pirated TV show in the US!

The Deadliest Watch report analyses multiple factors alongside illegal downloads including which has the most deaths, marriages and complaints too.

Game of Thrones illegally downloaded over 38,000 times per month!

2019 saw the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones air, with over 18.4m viewers tuned in to the final. According to data from The Deadliest Watch Report, the fantasy drama was illegally downloaded over 38,000 times per month in 2019 making it the most pirated show of 2019 for the second year running.

This was closely followed by Netflix drama The Crown with 30,000 illegal downloads per month and Hulu drama The Handmaid's Tale with 28,000 illegal downloads per month with Strangers Things coming in fourth place.

The data was found by analysing how many people searched to illegally stream the show online each month using Keyword.io to compile the results.

The top 10 most pirated TV shows of 2019! 

Game of Thrones, however, scored low on the complaints factor. 25% of social media posts that mentioned Game Of Thrones were negative which is low in comparison to others. It also scores low on the death rate with Black Mirror taking the title.

The Good Place the most complained about TV show in the last year!

Although Game of Thrones is the most illegally downloaded show of the past 12 months, which show has been the most complained about?

According to the report, The Good Place starring Kirsten Bell and Jameela Jamil has the most amount of complaints over social media. Over 90% of social media posts for the show were negative. This was followed by WatchMen with 80% negative social media posts and the Charmed Reboot with 70% negative sentiment over social.
