Shaq On the Term "Owner" in the NBA:

Jenners: “Now, NBA franchises like the Dallas Mavericks want to move away from having the term ‘owner’ because it’s offensive to the players and the organization.”

Shaq: “I don’t allow this sh*t. Okay? If you’re a part of my team, you are an employee. I don’t own you. You work for me. First of all, these players, they need to stay out of politics. If they’re going to get into politics - how about community politics? How about building schools? How about passing toys out for kids during Christmas? How about going to these neighborhoods where these kids are killing themselves, and talking to them? I don’t want to hear no bullsh*t about - ”

Jenners: “Good for you!”

Shaq: “Stop it, stop it. Listen, I played for a lot of ‘owners’ and they don’t ‘own’ me.”

Jenners: “Correct! They own a business. You’re an employee.”

O’Neal: “Exactly, they pay a lot of their money for me to work for them, and they make a lot of money off of me, but, stop it.”
