Apple has introduced four new wallpapers with the iOS 13, and each wallpaper has a variant for dark and light appearance themes. In the one with light themes, the backdrop is white, while in the dark mode, the stock wallpapers have a black background.

These new wallpapers offer four different color twists which include a close-up image of “lava lamp” bubbles. Wallpaper colors available with the iOS 12 are orange and white, green and white, black and white and blue and white. Apple should release more wallpapers with the final iOS 13 and these will be exclusive to the 2019 iPhones.

If you also want to download the iOS 13 wallpapers, then all you need to do is visit this link, and download the zip file. Here is one more link.

You can also adjust your own wallpaper to the dark mode using a setting called “Dark Appearance Dims Wallpaper.” When this option is enabled, the OS adjusts the exposure and brightness of your wallpaper. The adjustments made are subtle, but are noticeable. Also, if you are not satisfied with the adjustments, you can easily disable it from the Settings > Wallpaper.

iOS 13 – what’s new?

Talking of the iOS 13, it will continue to work in the same direction as its predecessor, i.e., to make older iPhones faster. In fact, Apple admits that the Face ID on the iOS 13 would be 30% faster, while apps will open twice as fast as before. If it’s true, it will be a big improvement in terms of the user experience.

Apple brings the much-anticipated Dark Mode with the iOS 13. It will be a system-wide change and support all apps. Third-party apps will also support the dark mode, and developers will likely add support for this prior to the final iOS 13 release. In the dark mode, the dock and the notifications will also feature darker hues.

Apple is also updating many of its stock apps with the iOS 13, including Mail, Messages, Notes, Reminders and more. The Mail app, for example, is getting desktop style formatting tools, while Safari will get more controls on how users view each website, such as remembering the font size.

Apple is redesigning the Photos app with the new OS. The app will come with a completely new photo editing interface, more use of AI to make editing easier, improved memories sorting and more. Further, the keyboard app on iOS will be getting the swipe functionality. With iOS 13, users will be able to just swipe their finger over the keys to type the words. Such a feature is already in Google’s Gboard.

Another useful feature coming with the iOS 13 is the support for external storage devices from within the Files app. Another update with the new iOS is smart reminders, which will now automatically recognize dates and times. Apple will also introduce a new sign-in feature allowing users to easily enter the apps without sacrificing their privacy.

The Maps app has also been revamped with many details and features like Collections. Siri is also getting text-to-speech improvement, which will make the assistant sound less like a robot.

Supported devices and release date

Talking of supported devices, the iOS 13 will be available to all devices from the iPhone 6S onwards, including the iPhone SE. So, if you are still hanging onto an iPhone 6 or even iPhone 5s, then you would not be allowed to update to the iOS 13.

When will you get iOS 13? Now that the first developer beta of iOS 13 is available, it will be updated in the next few months. To access the developer beta, you will need a Developer Account, which costs $99.

The first public beta, which would be more stable than the developer beta, is expected to come out sometime next month. Apple will likely release the final version in September along with the new iPhones.

For the last seven years, Apple has released the final build midway through September. The earliest (in the last seven years) that the new iOS came out was on September 13 (iOS 10 in 2016), while the latest was in 2012 and 2017 on September 19.
