New Trailer For Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse Give Fans A First Look

Updated on

While the majority of the Spider-Man movies thus far have revolved around Peter Parker,  the new trailer for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse shows that there’s more to the franchise than meets the eye.

While Peter Parker is the main character that many people think of when it comes to the iconic superhero Spider-man, he actually is only a part of the franchise – albeit a big one. The new trailer gives us some key information on the upcoming Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse movie and the characters and plot events we might be able to see when the movie finally hit theaters.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse follows the story of Miles Morales as he grows into his role as Spider-Man while being mentored by an older and more experienced Peter Parker. As Parker passes the reins to Morales, we see the first non-white iteration of Spider-Man – initially introduced to readers in Marvel’s Ultimate line of comics back in 2011.

Morales, an Afro-Latino teen, takes to the streets in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in the new trailer, and we also get a glimpse of Spider-Gwen – another popular take on the character in which Gwen Stacy is the one who gets radioactive powers rather than the traditional Spider-Man characters.

It’s easy to see from the new trailer that there’s a lot of love and effort that is going into the animation of the film, and the art style is brightly colored and reminiscent of a comic book mixed with the work of a great studio such as Pixar.

The new trailer also gives more insight into the setting of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse for those who aren’t as familiar with the comic books. The film takes place in “another universe, that looks and sounds like yours – bu it’s not.”

We have a while to wait until we see the release of Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse with the movie set to release on December 14th, but until that point we have this awesome new trailer to tide us over.

Take a look at the video included below for more information on the upcoming release. It’s clear from the video that this is going to be another excellent movie from Marvel who has generally been hitting it out of the market with their films over the past few years.

After the success of Avengers: Infinity War, it’s difficult to imagine a film coming anywhere close to the massive profit of that film. While Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse will not be as monumental as the collection of superheroes across multiple franchises, it still stands to be a significant boost to Disney’s yearly profits.

With the release of Black Panther, Disney got the message loud and clear that there’s a market for superhero movies headed by people of color. By exploring the world of Miles Morales, Disney can tell an awesome story while bringing talented minority actors to the forefront.
