For students with limited money, cheaper Android devices are the best smartphone option (maybe even the only option for some) as is evident from the growing sales of Xiaomi, Lenovo, Vivo, Oppo and OnePlus. Therefore, to attract more of such users to its latest flagship, OnePlus has come up with a special discount for students.
What is the OnePlus Student Program?
In a blog post on Tuesday, the company said demand for its smartphones has risen among students. To ensure that it improves even more, the Chinese company has introduced its new OnePlus Student Program, which allows participants to claim a discount of up to 10% on the OnePlus 5. Before students can get their discount, however, they must prove that they are eligible for the program.

There are three assignments that interested students must complete which will enable the company to determine whether they are eligible for the OnePlus Student Program.
“Through 3 short assignments, we will test your ability to enjoy exclusive student offers and examine your eligibility for our program,” the company said.
Don’t worry though; the assignments are not of an academic nature. They are merely three simple steps to claim the discount.
Step one requires potential customers to prove that they are students by showing their student ID cards. They are required to log in to Student Beans for account verification, through which they can access to the OnePlus Student Program. For step two, eligible students who are now official members of the OnePlus Student Program can claim their coupons offering a 10% discount.
“To claim, all you have to do is just hit the button to claim your coupon,” the company explained.
The third step is to activate that 10% discount at checkout. After all the steps are completed, students will be able to claim the coupon on the page here.
Discount makes OnePlus 5 more attractive
The OnePlus 5 is in a class apart from most smartphones available on the market. It is among the few devices that sport the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and 6GB of RAM, and that too at a price point of under $500. The device is available in more than 30 countries.
After a 10% discount, the 64GB variant will cost about $431 in the U.S., and the 128GB model will cost about $485. So the OnePlus Student Program presents a great opportunity for any student who is thinking about buying a feature-packed smartphone at an affordable price. The only constraint is that the coupon can only be used once, but it is a great deal undoubtedly.
It is also not very clear if the discount is available only on the OnePlus 5 or if it will work with other OnePlus products also. The company, however, does say that the “coupon can be used on any order, provided it contains no more than a single OnePlus 5 device.” Once the coupon is redeemed, it is valid for a month. The company does allow a student to claim a new coupon in the following year.
The offer can be used by citizens in several countries: Spain, Netherlands, Denmark, Poland, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Croatia, the U.K., Germany, France, Austria, Belgium, Portugal, Hungary, the U.S., Canada, Italy, Sweden and Finland.
