Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will get a new form of Wolf Pokémon: Lycanroc. The new form dubbed Dusk Form Lycanroc will be available only in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon when they are released in November.
Dusk Form Lycanroc is third form of Wolf Pokémon
With Dusk Form Lycanroc, Pokémon has added a third variation of Wolf Pokémon. In the upcoming titles, Dusk Form Lycanroc will be available in addition to Midday Form and Midnight Form, which were introduced last year in Pokémon Sun and Moon.
Announcing the new Pokémon, the Pokémon Company said, “You can’t get Dusk Form Lycanroc on your team by ordinary methods, such as discovering the mysterious Pokémon in the wild.”
There is no clarification of how players will be able to collect Dusk Form Lycanroc, but it can be assumed that a player will need to get the current two forms of Lycanroc to get their hands on the Dusk Form Lycanroc.
The 3DS installment of Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will launch on November 17 for the Nintendo 3DS. Many believe that Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon might just be re-releases of the games that were released last year for the Nintendo 3DS, but that may not be true. There are reports that the game will have brand new stories weaved in around the region of Alola. Further, Pikachu Island could also be featured in the new game.
Previously, Pokémon director Junichi Masuda stated that Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon would be a lot more than just telling new stories. There will be a slew of new monsters and the new mega revolution of the two legendary Pokemon from each game: Solgaleo for Pokemon Sun and Lunala for Pokemon Moon.
What’s new with Pokémon Go?
In other Pokemon news, the legendary Pokemon bird Moltres is all set to leave Pokémon Go for an unspecified period of time. The last full day of the bird was on August 6. The bird will be replaced by an electric-type bird and Team Instinct mascot Zapdos, notes Forbes. Compared to Lugia and Articuno, Moltres was easier to catch, as it did not have any strong counter-reactions.
Another legendary character that is expected to arrive on Pokémon Go is Ho-Oh. After debuting as the legendary mascot in Pokémon Gold, Ho-Oh appeared in the first episode of the Pokémon Anime. Ho-Oh is the upgraded version of Moltres. Like Moltres, it is s fire/flying Pokémon with strength and weaknesses similar to those of Moltres. Players are expecting Ho-Oh to be one of the strongest Pokémon.
The original “end boss” of Pokemon Red and Blue, Mewtwo, is also expected to arrive, among other legendary characters. Mewtwo will be unlocked once the player defeats all the gyms and becomes champion of the Kanto region. Mewtwo has the strongest attack stats in Pokémon Go. As Mewtwo has fewer weaknesses, players will not get benefits from using Golem and Rhydon to take it down.
