CNN’s Clock Tracks Gap Between Trump’s Attacks On Twitter

Updated on

CNN has come up with an interesting new feature meant to track the time gap between President Donald Trump’s Twitter attacks. Trump is an ardent user of the platform and is known for his bitter tweets directed at opponents and anyone who disagrees with him. Though negative, he has gained a lot of popularity through the platform.

It’s been over four days

A recent tweet from CNN Politics that informs users of the clock leads to a short story in which the news network explained why it featured the clock.

The story reads, “President Donald Trump won praise from pundits and political allies for his more measured tones during Tuesday night’s address to a joint session of Congress. At one point in the speech, he even declared that ‘the time for trivial matters has passed.’”

The story continued by saying that the last Twitter attack Trump made is a few days old.

On Sunday afternoon, he claimed, “’Russia talk is FAKE NEWS put out by the Dems, and played up by the media, in order to mask the big election defeat and the illegal leaks!'”

Since then, Trump hasn’t taken to Twitter, which is contrary to his nature. At the end, the story says they are keenly interested in seeing how long it will last, “literally.” CNN and Trump share a sour relationship, since Trump has referred to CNN as “fake news” several times.

Based on that clock, it has been four days since Trump has made any sarcastic remark about anyone, and that despite being trolled at the Oscars by host Jimmy Kimmel, Asghar Farhadi and others.

Is Trump done with Twitter?

Whenever there is any news about Trump, it is almost confirmed that he has something to say to people. He does that through Twitter, his preferred mode of communication and also said to be a reason for his victory. This makes people look to the micro-blogging site for insights into Trump’s mind.

Does Trump’s remark during the joint session of Congress that he is moving past trivial matters mean that he might spend more time on important matters rather than wasting time on replying to people or news channels trolling him or spreading rumors about him? There are many who still believe that Trump cannot refrain from attacking anyone for long. We will know this shortly, as CNN’s clock is still ticking.
