This iOS 11 Concept Has iPhone-To-iPhone Wireless Charging

Updated on

The iOS 10 was an impressive update with several new features and improvements. No one knows what the iOS 11 would look like when Apple announces the new mobile operating system at WWDC this year. But that hasn’t stopped concept designers from imagining what the OS would look like. The iOS 11 is expected to release with Apple’s next-gen flagship iPhone 8.

iOS 11 concept with Cirqle UI

A concept video created by designers at ConceptsiPhone imagines a new smartphone user interface similar to that of Apple Watch. Called Cirqle UI, the interface has circular app icons like the Watch. Though the UI looks gorgeous on the iPhone, it may not work well on a smartphone with the dual-edge bezel-less display. The Control Center has also been redesigned with new controls and operations.

Such an interface design would waste too much space on the home screen, says TechnoBuffalo. There are also many other features that may never materialize. For instance, the home button acts as a mini-screen to serve notifications. Showing notifications at the bottom of the display doesn’t go with the current setup of iOS. There are also capacitive buttons on either side of the home button.

Share battery life with friends

The iOS 11 concept has a feature that lets users scribble alphabets on the screen to find apps quickly. It features the dark theme. The concept also has an accessibility screen that miniaturizes whatever is on the display to enhance reachability.

But one cool feature that would certainly grab your attention is the iPhone-to-iPhone wireless charging. This feature allows friends to share battery life with each other wirelessly to save an iPhone from dying. The iPhone 8 is rumored to feature long-distance wireless charging technology that would allow you to charge the device from a distance of up to 15 feet from a transmitter. However, incorporating iPhone-to-iPhone wireless charging is an entirely different game.

iPhone 8 to have ‘Tap to Wake’ feature

The iPhone 8 is shaping up to be an exciting upgrade. The phone is said to have a bezel-less OLED display that would house the fingerprint scanner and home functionality. Samsung Display would be the sole supplier of OLED screens for the upcoming iPhone. The device is also rumored to have an Apple Watch-like “Tap to Wake” functionality. Recent reports indicate that it would also feature fast charging, thanks to the Tristar 3 Hydra chip.

Analysts estimate that the iPhone 8 would shatter all the previous sales records. Nomura analyst Jeffrey Kvaal recently told investors that Apple could sell a record 86 million iPhones in the fourth quarter of 2017, driven by strong demand for the iPhone 8.
