You Can’t Post This Sentence On Facebook: “This cannot be fake”

Updated on

In what can only be described as a strange turn of events, today I discovered that if you type “this cannot be fake” and try to post it on Facebook, it will not allow you to post it! If you give it a try make sure you type the exactly same words or else it won’t work.

And also if you use “Can’t” instead of “Cannot” it will be allowed to be posted, give it a try and see what happens.

Facebook action blocked

If you take a look at the image above, you can see that Facebook is telling me that lots of people are posting the same content! Surely it doesn’t mean that loads of people are trying to post “this cannot be fake”?…Seriously!!

What are other Facebook users Saying about this?

Over on yahoo Answers, a user calling himself / herself Shelby has asked the question: Why the comment is not allowed? He / she does not indicate as to whether a pop up message is appearing they just want an answer!

Facebook Yahoo Answers

And in another post on Facebook itself, a verified user named Sheeraz Raza, basically asks the same question and gets a couple of responses.

Final Thoughts

If I had a contact at Facebook other than friends and family, I would be able to ask them why I and others are unable to post that little none descript sentence. I certainly don’t believe that Facebook is seeing lots and lots of people posting that exact same sentence on it’s own do you?

Instead it has to be a glitch, it just has to be right? As, I’ve searched everywhere and discovered no answer, and almost no reference to anyone else having seen this before exists. So maybe apart from Sheeraz and Shelby on Facebook and Yahoo talking about it, it’s just not that big of an issue and actually just simply gets flagged as Spam by Facebook.

What do you think, is this just Facebook’s SPAM detection gone mad? Or could it be something else? Come and share your thoughts in the comments section below.
