Galaxy Note 7 Concepts, Specs And Release Date

Updated on

If you’re a lover of Samsung’s Galaxy Note range of smartphones, there’s a good chance that you are waiting to see what Samsung will produce at this year’s Unpacked event. And you, like many other people wish you could find out a little more about what the Galaxy Note 7 may look like and how much more powerful this year’s Phablet will be compared to the last. Good news! That is exactly what this article is all about, I’m going to show you some Galaxy Note 7 design concepts and talk about the possible specs of the handset.

Galaxy Note 7 – Curved Edge Display

Before I talk about the possibility of a Note 7 Edge handset, let’s get the name change out of the way! Yes, Samsung could be about to miss out the number “6”. And yes, that was the next Note version number to be had. However, Samsung was (according to rumor) becoming concerned that with the Note numbering always being one behind of its S-series handsets. Customers had begun to consider the Note to be somehow inferior to it.

So, moving from the Note 5 to the Galaxy Note 7 could be done, to bring the handset in-line with the Galaxy S7 Edge.

As for the concept image above, it was originally leaked on Twitter via @OnLeaks. And shows the Galaxy Note 7 with dual curved edges, like the Galaxy S7 Edge. If you look at the bottom of the handset, it is clear to see that a USB Type-C port has been included. And if you look at the top of the handset there are two extra cut outs, which could be for an iris scanner and a selfie flash.

Dual Cameras

Personally, I think this has to be one of the ugliest looking Galaxy Note 7 design concepts I have seen so far! However, according to the designer Hassan Kaymak and Phone Arena, which originally reported on the render. The Galaxy Note 7 will come with dual cameras at the back.

I think that as far as smartphone crazes go, Samsung is trying to have a piece of all the action. As it currently has curved Edge handsets and now could be looking to step into the dual camera market with the likes of LG and its G5 and Huawei with the P9. And speaking for myself, I would welcome it as the Huawei P9 and LG G5 felt too much like gimmicks.

30 Megapixel Camera

As for how old this rumor is, I’m not sure. However, it does give a completely different outlook on what camera the Galaxy Note 7 could have. According to the rumor, the rear camera on this year’s handset could be ramped up to as high as 30 Megapixels. Which would make it easily good enough for a professional photographer to use for work.

Also, it is being suggested that there will be two different LED flashes. Which will enable a user to capture the best photographs and video possible due to the cameras ability to work extremely well in both bright light and low lighting conditions. As for the cameras other specifications, they could be 2160p @ 30 fps, 1080p @ 60 fps or 720p @90 fps.

Galaxy Note 7 Release Date

As it stands, Samsung has remained tight-lipped about the handset and almost revealed nothing. However, that has not prevented the Russian tech journalist, Eldar Murtazin from speaking out on Twitter. On the social media site, he has suggested that the handset will be launched at an Unpacked event on August the 2nd in New York City USA.

If this is the case, it would make sense and also be similar to other rumors centering around the Galaxy Note 7 launch date. However, all we currently have to go on are rumors, so I would advise you to keep your fingers crossed and keep watching out for anything from Samsung.
