Wealth-X and Business Insider have collaborated to produce a definitive list of the 50 wealthiest people in the world. With a combined fortune of US$1.45 trillion, these 46 men and four women are collectively worth about the GDP of Australia. Two-thirds are self-made, including the four people at the very top of the list — Microsoft founder Bill Gates, retail king Amancio Ortega Gaona, mega-investor Warren Buffett and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
