In just a few hours, Apple is set to kick off its media event at the Bill Graham auditorium in San Francisco that has a seating capacity of 7,000 people. Of course, the new iPhone 6S and 6S Plus will be the biggest highlights of the event. The new iPhones will bring forth Force Touch technology. The iPhone 6S and its bigger sibling are expected to feature 2GB RAM, an A9 processor, 12-megapixel main camera, 5MP front snapper with an LED-flash for selfies, and an improved TouchID sensor. However, they will retain the design elements of the last year’s iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
Word in the media is that Apple will unveil its 12.9-inch iPad Pro at the same event. The new iPad has been in the works for years. It is expected to ship with a Force Touch-enabled stylus. The new iPad Pro will be packed with productivity-oriented functionality for power users. Even though the jumbo-sized tablet will be announced at the Sept.9 event, pre-orders will begin in October, followed by in-store sales in early November.
Apple TV to get a much-needed upgrade
Apple is also expected to unveil an updated fourth-generation iPad Mini featuring the A8X processor. Another focus of the event is Apple TV, a fully revamped set-top box. Apple plans to update the video streaming box hardware and allow developers to create native TV apps. It will also have an App Store and a new interface that lets users search for specific programs or movies using Siri assistant. Apple is also likely to discuss its new TV’s role as a gaming hub.
