Metal Gear Solid V: ‘Quiet Bug’ Now Patched On PC and PS4

Updated on

Metal Gear Solid V’s “Quiet Bug” has finally been patched by Konami. Now, players on the PlayStation 4 and PC can bring Quiet with them on missions 29 and 42 without worrying about their saved file getting corrupted.

Fix only for Metal Gear players PS4 and PC

As of now, the fix is only available for the PS4 and PC, Konami is working to come up with a fix for other platforms soon. Until the fix is ready, players on PlayStation 3, Xbox One or Xbox 360 should hold off on taking Quiet on missions 29 and 42.

“We’re happy to report that a fix for the Quiet/save data issue has now been implemented for PS4. The same fix for other platforms are coming,” the Metal Gear team said in a tweet.

More information on the Metal Gear Online will be shared by Konami at the Tokyo Game Show, scheduled later this week in Japan. The event will start from September 17, and will run until September 20.

What issues have been fixed?

The patch from Konami will take 435.8 MB memory on the PS4, and comes with many fixes. It fixes the issues, where under certain conditions, progress is halted and a black screen appears after clearing Mission 29 and Mission 42.

The patch also “fixed the issue where once the prior issue is triggered, the save data goes directly to the black screen and game progression is halted,” the firm said. Another issue fixed is “where using the selection controls during the tutorial when first buying an FOB the game halted progression.”

In addition, there has been a new update 1.005 released for PC. The update, which requires 72.5 MB, ensures that the saved data is backed up, and is used when the data can’t be taken from the Steam Cloud. Konami also needs to take care of the issues affecting Metal Gear Solid V’s servers, says the Irish Examiner.

Konami also unveiled a buff that increases daily login bonuses and will run until the Tokyo Game Show event. The daily login bonuses will be changing every day, and will update at 1PM PST/10AM CEST/5PM JST.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is now available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
