New iPod Touch 6 Can Now Be Jailbroken

Updated on

If you thought that the iPod Touch is dead, then think again, as Apple Inc. has silently refreshed its iPod touch. This new iPod touch 6 is the successor to the fifth-generation model, that was released back in 2012.

Talking about its specs, then they are mostly similar as compared to the iPhone 6. It comes with A8 CPU, 1GB RAM, 64-bit architecture, 8-megapixel camera and it also ships with the latest iOS 8.4 version installed. For sure, these are some pretty good specs considering the price in which you can get the iPod touch.

Jailbreaking iPod Touch 6

Since the iPod touch 6 is powered by Apple’s A8 chip and runs on iOS 8.4, the device is jail breakable by using the TaiG jailbreak tool. Now this is a great news for those who are thinking to purchase the latest generation of iPod touch and want to jailbreak their device. In fact, this is a great device for those who wants to run iOS apps and want to get a taste of Apple’s ecosystem, minus the calling functionality of iPhone.

So if you’ve got or plan to get a new iPod touch 6th generation, then you can jailbreak using the TaiG tool and also using the PP jailbreak tool. TaiG tool is currently available only for Windows, whereas PP jailbreak tool is available for Windows as well as for Mac.

Note that before jailbreaking, I would highly recommend you to backup your device using iTunes, so that just in case something goes wrong in the process, you can restore that backup.

So, do you plan on getting an iPod touch 6, and if yes, then are you planning to jailbreak it? Let us know in the comments below or send us pictures of your jailbroken new edition iPod!
