Lenovo wants to bring smart technologies to athletic products. The tech company just introduced two future research projects at the TechWorld event: smart shoes and a dual-screen smartwatch.
Lenovo’s smartwatch concept presents a unique look for the wearable. The Magic View smartwatch features two screens; the second screen works as an interactive display with optical reflection. This feature creates a virtual image roughly twenty times larger than the face display on the watch.

Magic View smartwatch wearers can view the images through the viewfinder located right underneath the first watch face. They can move from side to side to create a three-dimensional effect with the image.
Lenovo CEO Yang Yuanqing admitted that he wanted to revolutionize wearables and give smartphones virtual reality technologies. The company aims to create a richer experience for users with a watch that magnifies whatever the user is viewing. Lenovo wants the watch’s users to view videos or maps–not just squint at a small screen.
The tech company also introduced a new smartphone concept called Smart Cast. This unique device features a built-in laser projector and an infrared motion detector. The phone projects a large virtual keyboard.

Last, but certainly not least, Lenovo unveiled its “smart shoes” concept. These shoes feature built-in screens, tracking features, analysis and more. The shoes are part of the company’s plans for the IoT (Internet of Things). Lenovo is just one of the many tech companies hoping to transform everyday objects into technology products that access the internet. Lenovo launched a separate venture called ShenQi last year. The primary focus of this company is to create IoT products for the home.
The concept designs Lenovo recently shared are just projects the company is currently working on. If and when the products are launched to the public remains to be seen.
