Amazon Prime Now Allows Unlimited Photo Storage

Updated on

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) now offers unlimited photo storage for Prime users. For $99 a year, Amazon Prime users can get two-day free shipping on most purchases, access a huge library of movies and television shows to stream, a huge library of music to stream, and instant access to many Kindle book titles. Subscribers also enjoy early access to Lightning deals. Now Prime subscribers can store unlimited photos on Cloud Drive without paying extra.

Amazon’s latest perk for Amazon Prime subscribers

This perk starts today. Existing Prime users can store their current photo collections, upload new photos, and access the photos anywhere. Subscribers can upload photos from iOS, Android, Kindle Fire devices, Fire TV stick, Playstation 3, and Playstation 4. Select LG and Samsung smart televisions are also compatible.

Amazon Prime’s vice president Greg Greely explained in a recent statement, “This time of year in particular, families are capturing thousands of photos of holiday parties, family gatherings, and opening presents. With free unlimited photo storage, we’re providing one more reason for members to use Prime every day. Prime has always allowed members to conveniently save time and save money, and now with Prime Photos they can save memories too”

According to the retail giant, tens of millions of people currently subscribe to Amazon Prime.

Prepping for the holiday season

Earlier this week, Amazon launched the Electronics Holiday Gift Guide, a specially curated list of over 500 electronic gadgets of the season. The e-tailer claimed there would be three times the deals there were last year and a total of 10 deals on electronics a day.

Amazon is one of the leading retailers and e-commerce websites. It is also one of the leading sources for entertainment downloads and e-books. It’s not surprising the company wants to entice shoppers and Prime users right before the busiest shopping season of the year starts.
