Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) (NASDAQ:GOOG)’s Motorola-made Nexus 6 has been confirmed to go up for pre-orders on October 29. That’s next Wednesday. The confirmation comes from none other than the phablet’s listing in the U.S. Google Play Store. Nexus 6 was announced last week alongside HTC-made Nexus 9 tablet, Nexus Player set-top box and Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. Nexus 9 and Nexus Player have already gone on pre-orders.

Nexus 6 Pre-orders Begin On October 29 [Confirmed]

Nexus 6 to be available on all major U.S. carriers

At the time of the announcement, Google and Motorola had said that Nexus 6 would go on pre-order through the Play Store in “late October.” Shipping is expected to begin next month. T-Mobile will start shipments on November 12 in the U.S. It’s still unclear whether other carriers and retailers will also release on the same date. The phone has been priced at $649 for 32GB and $699 for 64GB version. You don’t have to shell out that amount upfront as T-Mobile is offering Nexus 6 on 24 monthly payments of $27.08.

AT&T will be carrying a Nexus phone for the first time. Verizon has also jumped in despite a not-so-good history with the Nexus devices. Other carriers such as Spring and US Cellular will also sell the Nexus 6. Such as aggressive carrier push suggests that Google wants Nexus to spread its adoption. The Nexus line with its exceptional features and dirt-cheap prices is yet to taste the success of the iPhones or Galaxy S line.

Can Nexus 6 challenge the new iPhones?

Google has priced its Nexus 6 at a premium to compete directly with the iPhone 6 Plus and Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4. The Nexus 6 sports a 5.9-inch Quad HD display with 1440×2560 resolution and 493ppi pixel density. It is powered by 3GB RAM and 2.7GHz Snapdragon 805 processor. The phone features 13MP main camera with optical image stabilization and 2MP front snapper. Nexus 6 runs the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The phone comes with a huge 3220mAh battery. Besides, it has a Turbo Charging technology that provides about six hours of battery life in just 15 minutes of charging.
