BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) might be preparing to announce the Gold version of its flagship device Passport, but the tipsters already got down to their work, and we have the images of the device now. The company initially released the device in two versions – black and porcelain white, and there were many reports thereafter making speculations about a gold version getting released soon, probably in November.
Is gold Passport coming?
The images of this yet to be announced flagship device have been posted by CrackBerry, and the device is seen to come with color scheme of gold and black. Seeing the images it is not possible to make out if those have been created by BlackBerry. This means that there is a possibility that the leaked images have been customized by a third-party; hence, the users may get an opportunity to buy or get altered the BlackBerry gold Passport someday.
The leaked images from CrackBerry do not give many details like where they are coming from and no update on the availability even. There are three images of the device laying aside the retail packaging of the device. We can see the name and logo on the devices. There is a tag on one of the images that states “parisrosegold” and behind it we can also see a bit of retail stuff.
No official words yet from BlackBerry
BlackBerry has introduced a new design for the smartphones with the Passport. This device is rectangular with a square-shaped display. The design has been criticized, but it has imparted uniqueness among the regular patterns. Passport has seen record sales in few days. Going by the claims made by the company, the smartphone after few days of its launch breached the 200,000 mark.
The gold version is even better as it has a frame made of precious metal. The gold Passport in the images looks even more luxurious than the highly priced and acclaimed BlackBerry Porsche P’9983. There is no confirmation as yet from the company with regards to the device release in gold, but the newly-leaked images give more weight age to the rumors of a gold version soon.
