Will Apple Launch A Gold iPad Air 2?

Updated on

Apple fans who loved the upscale look and feel of the gold iPhone 5S will be happy to know the company plans to give the next iPad Air the gold touch. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will introduce a gold tablet but he is not certain when the device will be officially unveiled.

iPad Air 2 predictions

Kuo’s prediction was reported from two sources including MacRumors and Apple Insider. The websites also noted Kuo’s strong track record of correct predictions when it comes to Apple products.

He also believes the iPad Air contributes to more sales and earnings than the iPad Mini. He thinks the iPad Air 2 will have significant upgrade which may include an anti-reflective coating for cover lens, A8 processor, 8-megapixel camera, and Touch ID/fingerprint recognition.

Apple preps for a big quarter

There was initial doubt from some that Apple would not release a gold iPad tablet computer. Last year after the gold iPhone was unveiled, there was speculation the company would do same for the iPad. One source from China even shared photos of the alleged device. Unfortunately, those pictures were most likely renderings or fakes. Apple’s gold iPhone 5S certainly created a buzz. When given the choice of a more upscale gold iPhone or a cheaper looking iPhone 5C with colored plastic, most buyers opted for the former.

The upcoming iPhone 6 is expected to make debut Tuesday. It is rumored Apple will unveil two iPhones including a larger phablet and possibly a smartwatch. A more recent rumor also indicates the company will also unveil products with NFC technology which could possibly eliminate the need for plastic debit or credit cards. Given previous releases, Apple will likely hold a separate event for the next iPad.

Apple is a company on cutting edge. The tech giant is always ahead of the game when it comes to products, technologies, and services.
