SolarCity Unveils ZS Peak Mounting System to Simplify Installation

SolarCity Corp (NASDAQ:SCTY) launched a new product under its Zep Solar line of solar products to simplify the installation process and generate more solar power from every rooftop compared with other solutions available in the market.

According to SolarCity Corp (NASDAQ:SCTY), the new ZS Peak solar mounting system that allows businesses, schools and other organizations to accelerate the installation of solar panels and increase generation capacity.

ZS Peak increases generation capacity

In addition, the products will ZS Peak also allows the significant expansion for commercial solar in addressable markets. Just like the Zep residential solar system; ZS Peak is an innovative snap-together system that simplifies and accelerates installation.

ZS Peak can increase the generation capacity of flat roof buildings by 20% to 50% per building without requiring any penetrations, according to the estimate of SolarCity Corp (NASDAQ:SCTY).

The dense and  east-west layout structure of the solar mounting system allows businesses to fit up to 20% more solar panels on standard roofs and 50% more panels on lightweight roofs commonly found in warehouses.

SolarCity currently installing first ZS Peak Project

SolarCity Corp (NASDAQ:SCTY) emphasized that the increase in the number of solar panels per roof is valuable in the commercial market citing the reason that conventional flat-roof solar systems are typically power less than 50% of the load of a commercial building.

The company added that ZS Peak’s east-west orientation lengthens the power production time and eliminates that mid-day spike of standard solar panels, which makes the use of solar inverters more efficient and reduces costs for customers further.

Currently, SolarCity Corp (NASDAQ:SCTY) is installing its first ZS Peak project and expects to begin volume installation of the product by January next year.

Last week, SolarCity Corp (NASDAQ:SCTY) expanded its operations in Baltimore, Maryland. The company opened its new 10,000 square-feet facility with more 35 job openings in Hunt Valley and more than 70 job openings across the state including installers, electricians, engineers and sales positions. The company currently has 255 employees in the state.
