BlackBerry Ltd BBM Channels Now Available on Hootsuite

BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB)’s social engagement platform BBM channels is now integrated with the social media management dashboard Hootsuite. The company announced on Tuesday, September 16th that Hootsuite users can now manage BBM Channels via Hootsuite.

Many benefits to Hootsuite users

BBM Channel users can now post messages and reply to posts received from the Hootsuite dashboard. The dashboard also offers real-time analytics on users’ activities. BBM channel assimilation will be available to Hootsuite Free, Pro and Enterprise users.

Greg Gunn, VP at Vancouver-based Hootsuite said, “With the undeniable popularity of messaging apps, brands are looking for ways to join the conversation.” Gunn added that their association with BlackBerry on the BBM Channels App will give users an access to the social strategies in real-time across platforms, directly from the Hootsuite dashboard.

BlackBerry collaboration with Hootsuite will save a lot of time, and be able to work more efficiently with better connectivity. Users can access any number of channels through Hootsuite. BBM Channels is free for all Hootsuite users and is available to them on their App directory. Hootsuite is quick, which allows users to post and repost faster on the social media sites using BBM channels.

Furthermore, the user can organize the comments and posts across different social media sites on BBM Channels and show pending or flagged contents. Users are free to update or delete the contents. The reach of the BBM channel can be identified by the subscribers’ comments and likes along with the interaction and engagement of the subscribers.

BBM channel on BlackBerry 10, BlackBerry OS

Just under a year ago, BBM Channels beta version was transformed into a full-version, and launched on BlackBerry 10 and BlackBerry OS in November of last year. There is no data about the number of BBM channel users, but according to the company there are 900,000 channels related to around everything on the planet like “sports teams, gaming communities, magazines that promote content, retailers offering deals, and lots more.”

FC Barcelona Board Member and Technology Area Director Didac Lee said that social media, as well as messaging channels have been a promising tool for FC Barcelona to connect with social fans of the club. With the integration of Hootsuite and BBM Channels, the team can now bring content into the social media workflow to reach a larger base. Lee also said that going “more social” is important for the success of the team.
