Legendary comedian and Academy Award-winning Robin Williams died on Monday at his home in Tiburon, California. The Marin County Sheriff’s Office said the apparent cause of his death was “suicide by asphyxiation.”

The local Sheriff’s office said Williams was found unconscious and not breathing at his home near Tiburon, north of San Francisco.

President Obama called Robin Williams “one of a kind” who shared his talent “freely and generously with those who needed it most.”
