Apple said it restored iCloud services and all the others that were down not long after 3 p.m. Eastern. Users began experiencing problems with the services a little after 1 p.m. Apple did not provide an update on exactly what caused the disruption.
iCloud is apparently causing some problems for some users. Many are reporting problems both sending and receiving iCloud mail and also just logging into the main website at iCloud.com. Those who try to access the website get this message: “iCloud encountered an error while trying to connect to the server.”
Apple’s System status page also now shows problems with several of the company’s other services.
The website Is It Down Right Now shows that there is a problem with iCloud, and there are many complaints from users saying that they’re having problems with it. It took at least 30 minutes for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) to acknowledge a problem, according to Mac Rumors. However, the company does show problems on its System Status page.
The page shows problems with all iCloud services, including backup, Mail, Notes, web apps, storage and everything else that’s remotely iCloud-related. The System Status page also shows problems with Apple’s Back to My Mac service, Documents in the Cloud, Find my Friends, Find my iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mack, iMovie Theater and Photos.
