Google is popular for its search engine, but the technology company is also known for many other products and services such as Google Maps. Related to this, Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) (NASDAQ:GOOG) has unveiled a new map-based game known as Smarty Pins. The game is basically a quiz game where you take turns answering fun location-based questions.
For example, you’ll be asked questions like; “Home to the royal family, this estate is one of the most famous in England.” To answer, you’ll need to drop the pin to the correct location on the map.
Smarty Pins allows you to select a category of your interest
If you’re stuck and just can’t figure it out, then you can get a hint from Smarty Pins by clicking on the “Take a hint” button. Furthermore, when starting Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) (NASDAQ:GOOG)’s new map game, you can select a category which you’re interested in, and then you’ll be presented questions solely from that category. Some of the many categories you can choose from: Arts and Culture, Science & Geography, Sports & Games, Entertainment, and History & Current Events. There is also a featured category which includes topics such as World Cup Trivia and March Madness.
Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) (NASDAQ:GOOG)’s Smarty Pin uses “miles” to indicate how much you’ve scored. The game starts with a preset number of miles, and if you answer correctly, then you get to keep those miles. If you answer quickly, then you can get bonus miles, and if you answer incorrectly, then the miles between your incorrect answer and the right answer are deducted from your total miles.
You also have the ability to share your score on social networks including Google+, Facebook and Twitter. The game for sure requires a good amount of general knowledge. If you’re good with geography trivia, then this game is definitely for you.
