Samsung To Unveil Galaxy Note 4 And Gear Glass During IFA

Updated on

Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:0059935) may soon launch two exciting products at the upcoming IFA: Gear Glass and Galaxy Note 4. The highly anticipated phablet phone is predicted to come in two different variation, including one with a curved OLED screen and one with a flat OLED screen.

Samsung to launch two versions of the Galaxy Note 4

The former would be targeted toward special niche markets, and the latter would be marketed to the masses. This isn’t the first time Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:0059935) tried out curved OLED screens, as the previously-launched Galaxy Round has a curved screen. However, the South Korean tech giant has yet to take on competition from LG’s G Flex curved smartphone.

A curved Galaxy Note geared toward a niche market could be just the ticket for Samsung. Although this phone won’t be targeted at the general consumer public, it is likely Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:0059935) is testing out the product. It should also be noted that the company isn’t ready for mass production yet either. Given the sheer number of smartphones Samsung sells, it would be next to impossible to mass produce flexible displays.

Possibilities for Gear Glass

Gear Glass is another thing to look forward to. Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG)( (NASDAQ:GOOGL) already revolutionized the market with Google Glass. Not surprisingly, other companies want to compete directly with their own version of Glass, and Samsung is one of them. Gear Glass would most likely be like Google Glass, which brings the Internet right in front of the user’s vision. It would also likely bring a wide range of useful applications that transform the user’s internet experience.

Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:0059935) is also reported to be planning to unveil an array of appliances and other home-connected accessories at the upcoming IFA show in Berlin. The brand behind Galaxy devices wants to continue to dominate both the mobile technology and home appliance industry. Hopefully, the aforementioned products will give Samsung the much-needed edge in competition.
