iOS 8, iPhone 6 Release Date Approaching: Are you ready?

Updated on

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will start the production of larger display iPhone 6 running on iOS 8 next month, according to Bloomberg reports. So, not much time is left, when users will be able to grab their favorite device. Considering this, a report from Computer World by Jonny Evans have detailed on “How should you prepare for your next iPhone and/or iOS 8 upgrade?”

Remember settings

In order to update the latest version iOS 8, when it appears, users should get rid of the content that they do not use like apps that are lying idle, images and video that are not needed, so that enough memory can be cleared out for smooth download.

While downloading the latest version of the operating system some settings are reverted to default and users tend to forget the customization they made. The users must note the settings made in the apps such as location services. After the upgrade the settings can be changed from default to the customized one. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone users should create a backup of their phone data before prompting the device to download the latest OS, suggest Evans.

iCloud Backup

In order to save the entire phone content to iCloud, user should: Visit Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup then Toggle iCloud Backup to green if it’s off and finally Tap Back Up Now.

In order to backup iTunes the device should be connected first and then user should open Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iTunes followed by tapping the button in the upper right. Thereafter Back Up Now button should be clicked under manually Back Up and Restore. Apple iCloud only creates a backup for content that the user has purchased from the iTunes.  Backup for video and photos would not be created in the iCloud.

Apple users must be patient while downloading iOS 8

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is also planning to launch a new version of iTunes prior to the release of iOS 8, which a user might want to install. Developers will go by the usual practice of launching the latest OS compatible versions of their apps just before the iOS 8 launch date.  So, Evans suggests to “watch for your essential apps to be updated and download these new versions to iTunes on your computer.”

Usually every year users face numerous issues while downloading the latest operating system iOS 8 because of heavy traffic. The download and the upgrade process would be smoother if it is done after 24 hours of the launch, which, also, gives company some time to resolve the bugs if any.
