#Facebook Down Gets Its Own Twitter Hashtag [UPDATE]

Updated on

UPDATE: Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) has resolved the issues reported earlier. The world can now go on.

PREVIOUSLY:

Is Facebook down for you too? Users of the social network from many parts of the world are talking about it on Twitter. The problem doesn’t appear to be ongoing for many of them, as they report not being able to get it and then trying again a few minutes later to find that it’s working.

Facebook tosses up error message

Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) users who are finding themselves locked out of their accounts are receiving this message:

“Your account is currently unavailable due to a site issue. We expect this to be resolved shortly. Please try again in a few minutes.”

Other sites show possible Facebook disruptions

The website Down Right Now shows possible service disruptions for the last hour or two, based on user reports. Is it Down Right Now, another site that tests for service disruptions, was able to ping Facebook In (NASDAQ:FB)’s server and reach it, although the site also says that several users reported issues “in the last few hours.”

Some of the site’s reports indicate that people have been having trouble with their Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) accounts for as long as two hours. Other reports on the site indicate that users were having issues with it yesterday as well. Those problems were a bit different, however, as users said they couldn’t access their comments, messages or notifications. Several also said they couldn’t share or like anything, while others said all they got was a white screen when they tried to visit Facebook’s site.

Complaining about Facebook on Twitter

Of course if you can’t go to Facebook to complain about things because it’s down, where do you turn? Naturally people switch over to Twitter to complain that Facebook is down. If you want to join the weeping and bawling, just use #FacebookDown to tell others about your woes in trying to access the beloved social network.

Or maybe you could spend more time talking with people in real life or, hey, here’s an idea. Stop slacking off at work. We can assure you that having Facebook down doesn’t mean the world is ending.
