Steve Mandel’s Lone Pine Capital and Lee Ainslie’s Maverick Capital both bought International, Ltd. (ADR) (NASDAQ:CTRP) in the last quarter, according to their respective 13f forms. It seems is the tiger cubs’ new favorite buy, as Coatue Management also established a new position in Ctrip last quarter.

Both funds also converged in buying new stakes in SouFun Holdings Ltd (NYSE:SFUN) and Liberty Global in the first quarter.

Lone Pine buys Actavis in Q1

Mandel’s brand new positions include Actavis plc (NYSE:ACT), Adobe Systems Incorporated (NASDAQ:ADBE), Equinix Inc (NASDAQ:EQIX) and Jazz Pharmaceuticals plc (NASDAQ:JAZZ). A smaller stake was initiated in Yandex NV (NASDAQ:YNDX).

Along with his fellow tiger cubs, Mandel also reduced his position in Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) in the last quarter. Ownership in Priceline Group Inc (NASDAQ:PCLN), Qualcomm, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM) and Dollar General Corp. (NYSE:DG) was also reduced over the same period.

Mandel boosts Lumber Liquidators, Tilson’s short

An interesting move by Mandel was a 400% increase in Lumber Liquidators Holdings Inc (NYSE:LL), one of Whitney Tilson’s many actively publicized shorts. Lone Pine also added to its existing stakes in Baidu Inc (ADR) (NASDAQ:BIDU), Valeant Pharmaceuticals Intl Inc (NYSE:VRX) (TSE:VRX) and Liberty Global plc (NASDAQ:LBTYK).

Lone Pine Capital’s top five holdings include Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp (NASDAQ:CTSH),Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), Baidu, Valeant and Liberty Global.

Maverick buys Ashland, 21st Century Fox

Maverick Capital bought new stakes in  Liberty Global plc (NASDAQ:LBTYK), Ashland Inc. (NYSE:ASH) and Twenty-First Century Fox Inc (NASDAQ:FOXA) in the last quarter. The fund bought 105k shares of AerCap Holdings N.V. (NYSE:AER), and Barry Rosenstein’s Jana Partners also bought a new position in the same company.

Maverick wrapped up several holdings in tech, as the fund exited Facebook, Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO), Priceline Group and eBay Inc (NASDAQ:EBAY). Ainslie’s hedge fund also exited Intuitive Surgical, Inc. (NASDAQ:ISRG) in the first quarter, a former Tiger cub favorite.

Maverick’s top five holdings include Ralph Lauren Corp (NYSE:RL), Valeant Pharmaceuticals Intl Inc (NYSE:VRX), TransDigm Group Incorporated (NYSE:TDG), Liberty Global and Palo Alto Networks Inc (NYSE:PANW).
