Apple Inc. iPhone 6 Leaked Images Reveal Dimensions

Purported photos of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iPhone 6 model have been leaked again, this time by an iPhone store (via GSM Arena). The leaked pictures were that of the iPhone 6 dummy, which is being measured with a digital sliding gauge. According to the pictures, the much-awaited phone will have a 4.7” screen with resolution of 960×1,704. Three suppliers have been confirmed by Apple: JDI, LG Display and Innolux.

Apple may launch the device in September

The Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone 6 mock-up shown in the picture has the dimensions 137.5 x 67 x 7mm. Dimension of iPhone 5 is 123.8 x 58.6 x 7.6 mm. Also, the pictures show the exterior of the iPhone 6, which looks similar to the iPod touch. The leaked images show the white with gold home key color option, though grey, black and gold dummies have also surfaced previously.

According to an employee of the Romanian Apple customer service, staff is advised not to take any leaves in September, the month in which Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) might launch the iPhone 6.

Most of the reports claim that the device will be launched somewhere in the second half of the year, though there has not been any official announcement. However, a report from Reuters, citing Taiwan’s Economic Daily News, said that the 4.7 inch model will be launched in August and the model with a bigger display will be released in September.

Steve Milunovich, UBS managing director, echoed same information, saying that the iPhone 6 will be launched in August or September. Nikkei also reported launch of the device as early as September.

Expected specifications of iPhone 6

There has been a series of reports released since last year about the probable launch date and specs of the iPhone 6. The next-gen device is expected to be launched in two variants with 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch display, with full scratch free sapphire crystal glass screen. Reports from the South Korean brokerage KDB Daewoo securities suggest that the smaller model will have a display with 1920x1080p, and the bigger version will have 2272×1280. Both the devices will be powered by an A8 chip and will run on iOS 7.2.

Trusted analyst Ming Chi Kuo said that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s upcoming phone will have low temperature polysilicon in-cell touch panels, Touch ID fingerprint security, NFC, metal casing and an 8MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture. The device will also be equipped with sensors that can track pressure, temperature and humidity.
