Tomorrow, April 18th, is Good Friday, a religious holiday celebrated by Christians all over the world.  The holiday traditionally precedes Easter Sunday and celebrates – or, more accurately, commemorates – the death by crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth, a central figure of Christianity.

Good Friday Quotes

“Exalt the Cross! God has hung the destiny of the race upon it. Other things we may do in the realm of ethics, and on the lines of philanthropic reforms; but our main duty converges into setting that one glorious beacon of salvation, Calvary’s Cross, before the gaze of every immortal soul.” – Theodore Ledyard Cuyler

“When you face problems in life ..!! Don’t ask GOD to take them away. Ask Him to show His purpose… Ask ways how to live a day searching his purpose for You. that’s it.”

“Good Friday marks the slaying of our Jesus, The unblemished lamb, the perfect sacrifice, He took our guilt and blame upon Himself, So we could be with Him in paradise.”

“By the cross we, too, are crucified with Christ; but alive in Christ. We are no more rebels, but servants; no more servants, but sons!” – Frederic William Farrar

“Christ died He left a will in which He gave His soul to His Father, His body to Joseph of Arimathea, His clothes to the soldiers and His mother to John. But to His disciples, who had left all to follow Him, He left not silver or gold, but something far better – His PEACE!” – Matthew Henry

“Christmas and Easter can be subjects for poetry, but Good Friday, like Auschwitz, cannot. The reality is so horrible it is not surprising that people should have found it a stumbling block to faith.” – W.H. Auden

“Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.
In you, O LORD, I take refuge;
let me never be put to shame.
In your justice rescue me.
Into your hands I commend my spirit;
you will redeem me, O LORD, O faithful God.” – Psalm 31

“He drained the cup of God’s wrath bone dry, leaving not a drop for us to drink.” – Richard Allen Bodey

“This good Friday, help me Lord to become a humble and a serving person. Make me more like you Jesus so that I may lead others to you.” – Tony White

“Greater love and mercy has never been seen than the one shown by our Lord Jesus. Even for the one’s who sinned and ill treated him, he showed nothing but goodness.” – Jenna Atkins
