George Soros Picks ROVI, KODK, ENT Struggle Tuesday

Today’s top gainers are 58.com (ADR) (NYSE:WUBA), Vipshop Holdings Ltd. (NYSE:VIPS) and Qunar Cayman Islands Ltd. (NASDAQ:QUNR). The losers are Rovi Corporation (NASDAQ:ROVI), Eastman Kodak Co. (NYSE:KODK) and Global Eagle Acquisition Corp. (NASDAQ:ENT).

58.com Rebounds

Today’s top gainer is 58.com. The Chinese online ads services website surged +11.05%, rebounding from yesterday’s -5.92% drop. This recovery comes as good news for shareholder Tiger Global Management.

Second is Vipshop Holdings Ltd., up +10.87%. A Tiger Global and George Soros holding, VIPS was recently given an outperform rating by Credit Suisse. It is now up +73.14% YTD.

Rounding out our Tuesday list of midday gainers is Qunar Cayman Islands. The stock price of the travel e-commerce platform increased +9.16%, thanks in large part to the news that it is in talks for a merger with Baidu. QUNR is yet another Tiger Global pick.

Rough Day for Rovi

Down -11.35%, today’s biggest loser is Rovi Corporation. The company announced the sale of one of its business units, which rattled investor confidence. Seth Klarman and George Soros have positions in Rovi.

Second comes Eastman Kodak, which slipped -8.59%. Another Soros investment pick, KODK is down -10.43% YTD.

Global Eagle Acquisition Company, also part of Soros’ portfolio, fell -3.49%. Its price has declined -23.69% since last month’s results announcement.
