iPhone 6 Concept Design Inspired By iPod Nano And iPhone 5C

Updated on

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iPhone 6 is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated smartphones of this or any other year. Analysts expect the device to be announced in September or October. While there have been countless rumors around the device, we are yet to see solid hints on what the big-screen iPhone 6 would look like. Based on the latest rumors, concept designer Martin Hajek teamed up with iCulture to develop an iPhone 6 concept design.

The Nano-inspired concept design of the iPhone 6

Sources told Mac Otakara that the iPhone 6 will take some design cues from the seventh generation iPod Nano and the iPhone 5C. Instead of replacing the iPhone 5S and 5C, it will be an expansion of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s smartphone lineup. Sources said that the new device will take the rounded back edges, speaker/microphone hole designs and button designs from the iPhone 5C, and the anodized aluminum design backing from iPod Nano. Mac Otakara has a solid track record in leaking features of the upcoming devices. It had accurately predicted the dual-LED flash in the iPhone 5S, and designs of the seventh generation iPod Nano.

Based on this report, Hajek takes the Nano-inspired concept design even further with a 4.7-inch display and a flat, rectangular design. The iPhone 6 is expected to be bigger than the 4-inch iPhone 5S, with a screen size of at least 4.7 inches. Many have claimed that the U.S. tech giant will launch the iPhone 6 in two versions.

iPhone 6 to be 7mm thick?

Along with the bigger screen, the iPhone 6 is anticipated to incorporate a sapphire glass display to make it more rigid. The U.S. company invested $578 million in a sapphire crystal plant in Arizona last year. The device will undoubtedly sport camera and processor upgrades. Recent indications suggest that the iPhone 6 will have a new Healthbook app that will work as your personal doctor. It will have a number of health tracking features such as glucose monitoring, blood sugar, miles walked, calories burned, blood pressure, and sleep quality.

Mac Otakara’s sources said that the iPhone 6 will be just 7mm thick with a protruding main camera. However, recent reports indicate that the final version of the iPhone 6 will be 7.5mm thick.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) shares inched up 0.19% to $546.05 in pre-market trading Wednesday.
