Updated on

What can we expect from the upcoming iOS 8 later on this year? A new report on the leak offers some insight as to what we might be able to expect. Early reports from 9to5Mac show a few key possibilities which include the Healthbook app. This app was designed for fitness fanatics and will likely work with the purported iWatch.

What iOS 8 will likely bring

The app reportedly will feature a variety of stats including steps, weight, calorie burn, blood pressure, heart rate, and hydration levels. This app will look similar to the Passbook app found in iOS 7.

Other strong features include a simplified Notification Center, Auto-Delete Option, improved Siri, iTunes Radio, removal of Games Center app, CarPlay app, and improved maps application. The latter was described by International Business Times Australia as such:

“As per reports, iOS 8 would have an improved map experience. There is no in-depth detail available as to how Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is going to achieve this target. Apple has not been successful with its Map App compared to that of Google Maps. Apple maps App was bombarded with complaints of bugs and other issues from the time they introduced Apple Maps. The report also stated that the updated mapping app will also have new features along with vital inputs from the recent acquisitions such as BroadMap, HopStop and Embark.”

When Apple will likely debut iOS 8

iOS 8 will most likely debut later this summer but before Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) unveils the iPhone 6. Since there is a large possibility Apple will also unveil the iWatch around the same time, it’s likely iOS 8 will have capabilities that will enable it to work with the iWatch. It sounds like Apple fans have a lot to look forward to.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) takes pride in creating in creating mobile technologies that have revolutionized the industry. It is safe to have high expectations for iOS 8.
