Updated on

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) co-founder Steve Wozniak, in a discussion at Cebit 2014 in Hannover, shared his thoughts on Apple, Steve Jobs on CEO Tim Cook. The session was moderated by TV anchor Brent Goff.

Is Cook fit for the job?

Previously. an analyst asked for the resignation of CEO Tim Cook as Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’S share price has dropped by 25% since October 2012. The moderator asked Wozniak to comment on this to which he said “I don’t agree.” Cook has been with the company for a long time, said Wozniak, and added that Apple is still to come up with new categories of products that are being developed secretly.

“Who knows what’s going on in the company,” the co-founder said. The smartphone segment is facing intense competition, and Wozniak agreed that rivals have come up with many great products. Despite this, Apple still leads as far as sales, profit and valuation is concerned. Addressing Tim Cook as a “hard worker,” the co-founder said that Cook is very good at execution. “I don’t know him too closely. But, I’m willing to wait for a longer time,” he said.

Is Apple still cool?

On being asked if he feels “Apple is still cool,” Wozniak replied affirmatively. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has always been a leader inspiring others, and it enjoys a reputation where others are looking up to it, for the future. “Apple has been a star,” he said.

On being asked if the demise of Steve Jobs was “fatal for the magic at Apple,” Wozniak said it is not true. There is no way one can assess if Apple would have been better or worse if Job’s had lived. “I think, nobody can look back and say if the company had made different decisions, it would have great,” he said.

Uses iTunes to download movies

Replying to the question of having Netflix at home, Wozniak said that he has Netflix, but he could not watch a movie as the broadband speed is slow. Therefore, he prefers downloading movies from iTunes and watching it three days later.

As far as gadgets goes, Wozniak uses an iPhone and a Macbook Pro computer when he is outside for better typing and a bigger screen. He also uses a tablet, but the computer is more important overall. Wozniak considers smartphones as an important category of product, but prefer buying products that do new things like laser beam projectors and smart products.
