Tom Steyer is founder and former chief executive officer of Farallon Capital Management, a San Francisco-based investment firm. When Steyer stepped down from Farallon in 2012 the company was managing almost $20 billion. Steyer’s personal net worth is estimated to be $2.6 billion. Not satisfied with retiring to a golf course, Steyer has reinvented himself as an environmental activist and Democratic power broker.
