Updated on

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is ready to try new avenues and to take their company to the next level. The company recently posted a job advertisement for a “Instrumentation Design/NPI Engineer” which mentions the company is looking for an engineer who will cover existing major platforms as well as upcoming new platforms.

Apple sees a bright future

The major platforms Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) already enjoys success in include the iPhone, iPad, and Mac. This new job listing suggests Apple has something new in the works. Right now there is no word on whether these future platforms will be on existing operating systems or perhaps something completely new.

Apple Insider’s Neil Hughes added, “The new position advertised by Apple is described as “always moving,” and will also cover the Mac, iPad, iPhone and assorted accessories. The incoming member of Apple’s New Product Introduction team will serve as hardware engineering test design lead. As for what new platforms Apple could be working on, the most obvious potential choice could be a wrist-oriented operating system for the company’s anticipated “iWatch” accessory. Rumors of such a device have persisted for months, but have picked up considerable steam at the start of 2014, suggesting that the introduction of such a product could occur this year”

Apple’s purported iWatch in the works

This year, everyone’s eyes are on the purported iWatch. This rumored gadget, which is rumored to work with the iPhone, is expected to transform the mobile technology industry. Although the concept of a smartwatch is nothing new, fans are hoping it will transform the market the same way the iPhone changed the smartphone market.

The fact Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is rumored to have 100 experts working on the high-tech watch signifies there is strong speculation such a product exists.
